About Us
My Story
Meet KumKum Kumar, RDN
Hello! I have spent most of my career at the VA Medical center, a teaching hospital, in educating nutrition to individuals on diabetes management, cardiovascular disease, weight management, renal disease. The good news is that we have the power to help prevent chronic disease, by making positive diet and lifestyle changes that can help reduce risk – including possibly preventing the onset of chronic diseases. I can help you make lifestyle changes to live a healthy life. I am also the recipient of the Certificate of training in “Adult Obesity And Weight Management” from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. This has further enhanced my skills and knowledge in assisting individuals with obesity, cardiovascular disease and diabetes care.
I am passionate about nutrition, health and wellness. With my extensive experience in multicultural nutrition counseling, I like to help individuals to continue to enjoy their ethnic foods but make healthier choices to suit their dietary needs and lifestyle. In my leisure time, I enjoy acrylic and water paintings, vocal music, cooking, reading, meditating, taking long walks in nature and talking to my friends. I have successfully created several small walking clubs around my neighborhood and at work. I believe in giving back to my community and feel empowered when people’s health and physical needs are being met.
I have been doing several webinars related to nutrition for health and wellness awareness for our community on nutrition as a major preventive method to prevent chronic disease.
